Synopsis
Charlie spends the final hours of his Sunday eating ice cream alone in his flat, while a film that he has long stopped watching continues to play on his laptop. Trying to make sense of a persistent, inexplicable melancholy, he recalls an old dream in which he was beating his mother. The memory unsettles him. Doubt begins to creep in about how much control he really has over himself. Is his mind truly in control of his body? He tries to dig deeper but the deeper he goes, the more elusive any explanation becomes, until all he is left with is his naked body. Meanwhile, the movie on his laptop unfolds in parallel: a mythical hero from five thousand years ago faces a test that mirrors Charlie's struggle. The next morning, Charlie wakes up fine. The previous day now feels distant and forgotten. He gets dressed and leaves for work. But something remains ajar.
